REENTRY SPECIALIST

Allen Atherley is a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist and Community Health Worker here at Operation Gateway. He is from  Originally from South Central Los Angeles. He maintains professionalism amongst members where he understands exactly what a justice impacted individual goes through. 

      With lived experience he has been able to uplift members to see that change takes hard work but is very much achievable for anyone who desires that change. Staying grateful amongst the change and remembering the feeling of overcoming where you once were. Working as a Senior Coordinator for the ACDP program while incarcerated Allen was inspired to bring that dedication of change beyond the gates of incarceration. He developed a purpose, “he says”. Working as a BHT Supervisor in treatment for a couple years he developed even more skills to help others. Continuously working on himself as well in his own recovery. Allen now feels right at home where he needs to be as the men’s Reentry Navigator. 

Allen is a devoted husband and father to his wife and children. Also a true believer following his faith which has allowed great things to happen and will continue growing in the field he is in. He continues reaching for his goals and maintaining an open ear for knowledge to be better on a daily basis from within. He loves the quote from leadership at OG which states “ How do we overcome stigma, we educate ourselves and put in the work for change”
